A Reddit user has discovered the graphical configurations of the next generation of AMD Renoir APUs. The juicy details were hidden inside the December 2019 issue of AMD Bootcamp Drivers.

AMD Renoir - Controller Reveals About 28 APU Models

As a reminder, we expect AMD to use its Zen 2 microarchitecture on Renoir chips. APUs are also expected to be manufactured at TSMC's 7nm process node, just like AMD's other offerings. Unfortunately, previous Linux patches seem to indicate that Renoir will continue to use Vega graphics, so Navi may not debut in the APU space in this generation.

The newly discovered information reveals that AMD may be preparing a ton of Renoir chips for both the laptop and desktop market. The controller points to a total of 28 different Renoir parts, 14 for each segment. As usual, there will be the normal APUs and their Pro counterparts.

Starting with the desktop, Renoir will apparently come in 65W and 35W flavors. Six Renoir 65W and eight 35W APUs are mentioned. 65W models are equipped with 6 calculation units, eight or nine CU and 10 or 11 CU. The 35W models, on the other hand, will start with three or four CUs, 6 CUs, 8 CUs, and a maximum of 10 CUs.

Renoir for notebooks will reportedly have 45W and 15W TDP (Thermal Design Power) models. Apparently, AMD could launch six 45W and eight 15W SKUs. The 45W chips could come with eight or nine CU, 10 or 11 CU and 12 or 13 CU. The 15W models will be available with the configurations mentioned above along with the addition of entry-level chips that start with six CUs.

AMD appears to have the entire lineup ready to storm the market with its APUs. We will keep you informed.
