At CES 2020 AMD announced and unveiled the Ryzen 4000 range of notebook processors. Among the models featured there, the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U was named, the performance of which can only please fans of the company.

AMD Ryzen 5 4500U is on the same level as the Intel Core i7-10710U

The processor is made with a 7nm node, it has 6 physical cores, but without support for SMT multithreading technology. The base frequency is 2.3 GHz, maximum 4.0 GHz, it has a nominal TDP of 15 W, but they can be configured for 10-25 W.

The Geekbench 5 benchmark found the performance of this processor for the first time. From this we learned that a single processor core can score 1076 points, while using all cores a result of 4323 points can be achieved.

For reference, the Intel Core i7-10710U processor for 6-core, 12-wire notebooks operating in the 1.1-4.7 GHz frequency range gets approximately the same number of points for both one core and all the nuclei. There are many results, different numbers everywhere, but if you average it, you get more or less the same results. This is interesting, considering that the Ryzen 5 4500U has half the threads, 6 vs 12 of the Intel model.
