AMD Ryzen 7 4700U 8-core APU featured in 3DMark
The leaked APU is part of the Ryzen 4000 'Renoir' family, which will launch in early 2020 and will first target the notebook market before entering the desktop PC segment.
The fourth generation of AMD Renoir APU (Ryzen) will be based on the 7nm Zen 2 architecture and will succeed the third generation of APU Piccaso, which is based on the Zen + core architecture. The 7nm APU family will have a ton of new features to talk about apart from the Zen 2 cores, it will be very efficient, more so than the current 12nm Zen + parts, and it will feature a more modern Vega GPU with an improved feature set that approaching Radeon VII.

The Ryzen 7 4700U is an 8-core, 8-wire processor with a clock speed set at 2.0 GHz base and 4.2 GHz boost clock. These may or may not be the latest watches as the APU has yet to be officially announced, but compared to the Ryzen 7 3700U we are seeing a 200 MHz rise which should lead to better performance along with IPC improvements from Zen 2. The chip also comes with Radeon Vega graphics but has a poorly reported clock speed.
In the 3DMark results, the Ryzen 7 4700U was faster than the Ryzen 7 3700U in almost all test cases and scored 4893 points, representing a performance jump of 18% and a performance jump of 26% compared with the Ryzen 5 3500U. Compared to the new Core i7-1065G7, the Ryzen 7 4700U is 2% faster.
As in the previous generation, 45W laptop CPUs will battle Intel Coffee Lake-H series processors, while 15W pieces will fight Comet Lake-U and Ice Lake-U. The desktop parts will come out a little later considering the recently released Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3200G. We will keep you informed.
