AMD Ryzen Threadripper overrides Core-i9 7900X for a lower price
It appears that for now only two models are going to be released, the 12-core Ryzen Threadripper 1920X and the 16-core Ryzen Threadripper 1950X. The first one works at 3.5 GHz / 4 GHz base and turbo frequencies while the second one works at 3.4 GHz / 4 GHz. Both have 32 MB of L3 cache and reach official prices of $ 799 and $ 999 respectively.
AMD Prepares Nine Ryzen Threadripper Processors
Lisa Su has wanted to show off the new chips with John Taylor and for this it has occurred to them to test them on Cinebench R15 and compare them with the Core i9-7900X from Intel. The Ryzen T hreadripper 1950X reaches a score of 3, 062 points while the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X reaches 2, 431 points. The Core i9-7900X processor stays at 2, 167 points so AMD's two bets are clearly superior in multi-thread processing, in single-thread they will be somewhat less powerful but not too much. The Core i9-7900X has an approximate price of 1000 euros, so AMD offers a much better price-performance ratio.
A few days ago Intel belittled the AMD EPYC processors by calling them "simple stuck desktop dies", these Threadrippers are made up of two stuck dies (unlike EPYC's 4 dies) and have managed to humiliate the Intel processor that has not had nothing to do despite costing the same or even more.
AMD Ryzen 3 about to come out of the oven
Finally AMD has also spoken about the Ryzen 3, the bet for the low-end of the Zen microarchitecture that will arrive with the AMD Ryzen 3 1200 and AMD Ryzen 3 1300X models both consisting of four cores and four processing threads with frequencies of 3.10 /3.40 GHz and 3.50 / 3.70 GHz. These will arrive on July 27 at unconfirmed prices but the rumors put them below 150 euros.
