Amd vega10 will have 4,096 stream processors

Anonim

A new leak from Yu Zheng has appeared about the AMD Vega10 (Greenland) graphic architecture, which will arrive sometime in 2017 to succeed Polaris that will arrive in the middle of this year if everything goes according to plan.

AMD Vega10 will arrive with a maximum of 4, 096 stream processor, a number that if it doesn't tell you anything turns out to be the same one we found in the current AMD Fiji GPU. This could mean that AMD is going to focus on improving the capabilities of its Graphics Core Next instead of betting on brute force and increasing the number of units, remember that Vega corresponds to two generations after Fiji, so the increase in performance should be very remarkable.

AMD Vega will also mark the debut of HBM2 memory with 1TB / s bandwidth for very high performance at high resolutions, perhaps it is time to make 4K the gaming standard. All the improvements introduced in Vega along with the HBM2 memory promise to increase Fiji's energy efficiency by more than 2.5 times.

The AMD Vega 10 project is linked to the v15 architecture of AMD SoCs, this could mean the possibility of setting Dual Graphics configurations between high-end AMD graphics cards and their Zen-based APUs.
