Antec GX1200 is a chassis that has been designed with the full love of the manufacturer to provide discerning users with an excellent high-end solution while maintaining a very competitive price.
The box is one of the most important elements when assembling a new equipment, since it depends on the possibilities of expansion for the future and compatibility with the best graphics cards and the best heatsinks. Want to know more about her? Don't miss our review!
Unboxing and design
Antec GX1200 comes with the usual presentation on PC chassis, a large cardboard box inside which comes the box itself, very well accommodated by cork pieces and a protective bag, the manufacturer has put a lot of care so that nothing moves during transport and reach the end user's hands in the best conditions.
Once the box is open we find the following bundle:
- Antec GX1200 Cable ties User manual Screws required for mounting
The Antec GX1200 chassis is built in high quality SECC steel to reach dimensions of 520.7 mm x 203.2 mm x 520.7 mm, so it offers us ample space to be able to mount all the components in a very comfortable way. Its design is quite modern but at the same time it is not very aggressive, something that could throw back less daring users.
The manufacturer has positioned the panel with the ports and controls on top to achieve a very cleanly designed front in which RGB LED fans and micro-perforated metal stand out to improve air flow.
On the panel we find two USB 3.0 ports next to the 3.5 mm jack connectors for audio and micro and the power and reset button.
A large acrylic window has been placed on the side panel that will allow us to perfectly see the entire interior of the equipment, this could not be otherwise in the era of RGB lights, each day it costs more to see a component without lighting and it would be a pity not to be able to enjoy it for the lack of a window.
We got to the back and we see a fairly characteristic configuration, we found a total of seven expansion slots next to the space for the 120mm fan and the hole for the power supply in the lower area, the ideal location to avoid eating the heat generated by all hardware during operation.
This rear part has a honeycomb design, that is, it includes multiple perforations to improve air flow and help achieve better cooling.
Finally, we leave you a picture of the legs that will fix our tower on any surface and a small filter to prevent dust from entering the fan of the power supply.
Bottom and assembly
We open the Antec GX1200 and we finally look inside, the first thing we see is the installation area of the motherboard, this chassis is compatible with Mini ITX, Micro ATX and ATX models so it offers us excellent versatility and will adjust to the needs of all users.
Storage is also very important in all the equipment, Antec knows it and for this reason it has placed two 3.5-inch bays and three 2.5-inch bays, with this we can have spare capacity in addition to being able to combine all the problems without problems. advantages of modern SSDs and the most traditional mechanical disks of a lifetime.
We move on to another key point in every PC chassis, cooling. Antec GX1200 allows us to mount a large number of fans to achieve excellent air flow within our system, specifically we can mount three 120mm fans at the front, two 120mm fans at the top and a 120mm fan in the back. With this we will not have problems to achieve a good flow of fresh air in and hot air out from inside the equipment. Antec has installed a dust filter in the area of the power supply to protect it.
Liquid cooling fans will also be very well served with the Antec GX1200 which offers us the possibility of mounting a 20mm x 155mm x 45mm radiator at the rear, a 240mm x 120mm x 30mm radiator in the top and a 360mm x 130mm x 40mm radiator on the front.
We also highlight the compatibility of the Antec GX1200 with graphics cards up to 410 mm in length and CPU coolers with a maximum height of 160 mm, with this we will have no problems mounting a very high-performance system in video games and all kinds of tasks. We also highlight the Antec Magic Box that offers us no less than 6 controllers for fans and three controllers for LED lighting systems.
Before seeing the assembly we leave you some images of the opposite area of the box. As we can see, it allows us to install all the wiring without much difficulty and hide it.
Finally, some images of the tower assembly with a simple gaming assembly but that has always given us a great result in our tests.
Final words and conclusion about Antec GX1200
The Antec GX1200 is a mid-range box with a very attractive price for any user. Among its benefits we find the possibility of installing graphics cards up to 41 cm, heatsinks up to 16 cm high and a double radiator on the front.
Although in the technical specifications it indicates that we can install a 360 mm radiator, although honestly, we see it very tight. What we recommend is to install a third fan on the front you will not have any type of problem. Although the one that is totally mandatory is to install a 120mm rear to improve air flow (as in our photos).
We recommend: the best PC cases on the market
Special mention for the “ Antec Magic BOX ” 7-color LED lighting system that allows us to customize our fans in both colors and effects. Good job Antec! About the assembly we have to say that it was quite fast, in a matter of 20 minutes we had an AMD Ryzen Gaming PC mounted. What more can we ask for?
Currently we can find in the main online stores for a price of 79.95 euros, which is not bad, but it is not the most attractive price that we can ask this box. Although occasionally we have seen offers of up to 66 euros, which makes it a safe bet as a PC Gaming box.
