The chassis is one of the most important components when assembling a new PC, since the expansion possibilities for the future and the compatibility with high-end components such as graphics cards will largely depend on it. Antec GX330 is an economical chassis with excellent characteristics for mounting high-performance equipment. Its aesthetic is enhanced by a side acrylic window and included RGB LED lighting fans.

Antec GX330 technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

The Antec GX330 chassis comes to us in a large cardboard box and with the natural color of this material, on the front we see the brand's logo and the general design of the product while on the different sides more details of its features. In summary, it is a fairly typical presentation for this type of product.

The chassis is very well protected by various pieces of cork that prevent its movement during transport, the objective is that it reaches the hands of the end user in the best possible conditions. For this purpose it is also covered by a plastic bag that will prevent any possible scratches.

Antec provides us with a plastic bag with all the accessories that come with the GX330, we highlight a user manual along with plastic cable ties and all the screws necessary for mounting the equipment.

After having seen the presentation of the Antec GX330 and all its accessories, it is time to focus our eyes on the chassis itself. We are in front of a unit with an ATX semi-tower format that reaches dimensions of 490 x 202 x 492 mm and a weight of 5.9 Kg, therefore, it is within the usual in both size and weight.

We look at the front of the Antec GX330 and we see that it has a design with meshed metal that has a multitude of small holes, it is a design that we have already seen many times and that is intended to facilitate the entry of air to feed the front fans of the chassis, thereby improving air flow within the equipment with all the benefits that this entails. On the front we see a 5.25 ”bay that will serve to install an optical unit or a controller for the fans, more and more manufacturers are deciding to dispense with this bay in benefit of the possibility of installing more fans. At the top of the front we find all the connection ports, specifically two USB ports (1 x 3.0 and 1 x 2.0), the 3.5 mm jack connectors for headphones and microphone and a small reset button.

At the top we can see a large grille that allows the fans in this area to take a large amount of air to improve the cooling of the equipment, these three fans will be accompanied by a speed regulator included with three positions so that the user can adjust their rotation speed to taste. In this area we also have the power button.

We now turn to see the sides of the Antec GX330, the main side presents a window so that the most demanding users can see the hardware of their equipment in operation, this time it is not tempered glass, but it conforms to acrylic, a decision that does not surprise us in a product of this range. The other side is completely clean and has nothing special.

On the back we see a characteristic hole for the 120 mm fan that will take care of getting the hot air from inside the equipment, we also have 7 expansion slots and the hole for the power supply at the bottom, its ideal location for it takes in fresh air instead of all the hot air generated by the hardware.

We finish the exterior appearance with the lower area, we see a removable dust filter in the area of the power supply and four small rubber feet that have the function of absorbing the vibrations produced.

Interior and assembly

To access the interior of the Antec GX330 we only have to remove four screws with our hands and remove the side panels, after which we see how the interior of the equipment is the same black color as the external part. The chassis offers us compatibility with ATX, micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards so it will adapt to the needs of a large number of users. To the side we see space for the management of the wiring, all a detail that the most demanding with the assembly of their equipment will appreciate.

This chassis is highly recommended for high-end systems, it offers us the possibility of accommodating a heatsink for the processor with a height of up to 160 mm and graphics cards of up to 400 mm, with this we ensure we can mount any card on the market as very powerful Whatever it is, it also includes a support to support the graphics and relieve the tension generated by its own weight, users of very high-end units will fully understand the advantages that this implies.

We see that Antec has included a 120mm fan on the front, it has an RGB LED lighting system and we can accompany it with up to two additional fans or a 360mm radiator, although for this we must do without the 5.25-inch bay, it is quite a detail that the manufacturer offers us this possibility. A fan with back lighting has also been included, with this we already have an acceptable air flow without the need to put more fans, although it will not be enough for a high-end system.

The upper area also allows us to put three 120 mm fans, in this case we cannot accommodate any radiator since the available space is insufficient for this purpose.

Even being a cheap box it allows us to organize the wiring more than decently. It is certainly not the highest range of the company, but it relieves us and helps us to improve all the wiring. All right!

As for the hard drive bays, we have two 3.5 / 2.5-inch bays in the lower area to which two hidden 2.5 mm bays are added in the left area of the chassis. With this we can install a significant number of hard drives in addition to being able to combine all the advantages of fast SSDs and HDDs that offer us enormous capacity at a very low cost.

Finally we leave you some images of examples of a montage. In our case, to report that the RM1000X power supply is too long and the cables were colliding, we have chosen to show you a basic example.

Final words and conclusion about Antec GX330

The Antec GX330 is a mid-range tower that is positioned among the best cheap options on the market. Its futuristic design, the use of quality fans with blue LED light and a good organization of wiring, makes it an option to consider.

In our assembly we have seen that excessively long sources are not recommended for this configuration, since the wiring will not be well routed. But the possibility of installing a graphics card of up to 40 cm, helped with an extra support that incorporates the box, we were delighted. On cooling, it allows us to mount heatsinks up to 16 cm or liquid cooling: 360 mm in the front or 120 mm in the rear.

We recommend reading the best PC cases on the market.

Its store price ranges from 50 to 65 euros. It is usually a box that is on sale at various computer stores and is quite common in low-priced gaming configurations. A 100% recommended box for tight pockets.
