The new generation of Threadripper also brings improvements and updates in most of the refrigerations dedicated to its socket. Cooler Master has announced the Wraith Ripper, Noctua is giving indications on the compatibility with the 250W of the 2990WX, and now Enermax updates its offer with these new Liqtech TR4 II LCS.

New Enermax Liqtech TR4 II LCS Announced

The new liquid cooling kits will continue to be available in 3 versions, 360mm, 280mm and 240mm. They will also continue to support the same TDP, being able to dissipate more than 500W, enabling them for almost all uses with, for example, a Threadripper 2990WX.

The renewed line also continues to use the same refrigeration technology that the brand called SCT, but Enermax does not report changes at the level of its internal architecture, with the inclusion of addressable RGB LEDs, configurable with an included controller or through the software of some motherboards.

We have read some user complaints regarding Liqtech TR4 first generation coolant. Whether they are true or not (we have only seen a few cases ), we hope that Enermax has made improvements to its liquids beyond the colorful RGB LEDs, something that unfortunately we cannot confirm at the moment.

In any case, the brand does not want to lose its almost exclusive position in the liquid refrigeration market made for TR4, which is a bit deserted , and that's why they make this renovation just a year after launching the original models. Asetek liquids such as the Corsair H115i PRO can be used with Threadripper, but its thing is to have a heatsink / RL whose base covers the entire gigantic Threadripper die, to maximize cooling capacities.

The 360mm version of this Liqtech TR4 II LCS will cost around $ 160 while the rest will have a recommended price of $ 140.
