Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 is a new mid-range processor that promises to bring all users closer to the functions that until now were exclusive to the high-end. This processor has been designed around the use of the most common consumers to offer them what they need.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 promises to revolutionize the mid-range

Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 offers twice the total AI performance compared to the Snapdragon 660, stronger image processing thanks to additional hardware acceleration as well as reduced power consumption. This new chip is capable of capturing 4K HDR videos with 40% less power consumption than the 660.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 is comfortably positioned between the mid-range 600 and the high-end 800 series. Its custom Kryo 360 CPU offers two 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A75 cores for performance and six 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex-A55 cores for increased power efficiency in less demanding tasks. User can expect 20% overall performance boost, 25% faster web browsing, and 15% faster app load times compared to previous 660.

Qualcomm claims that its Adreno 616 GPU will allow up to 35% faster graphics rendering and consume up to 40% less power, which should provide the best gaming experience in the mid-range. The new hardware in the Snapdragon 710 will also provide OEMs with greater opportunities to implement Artificial Intelligence functions, closing the gap between the hardware and various AI frameworks. This SDK makes it much easier for OEMs to use frameworks like Caffe from Facebook and TensorFlow from Google.

Qualcomm claims that we can expect the first devices to ship in the coming weeks, so we'll see it in action very soon.
