Unboxing and design

AOC presents the product in a box with a very compact and very heavy format so that the home setting is perfect. The viewing angles of the monitor are not impressive as it incorporates a TN panel. Although we have great benefits as we do not have light leaks and blacks are outstanding. Although it does not have an IPS panel, we recommend that you calibrate the monitor via hardware, but if you cannot afford a calibrator, you can always try it via software.

Among its rear connections we have an HDMI connection, a DisplayPort 1.2 and another D-SUB (VGA of a lifetime). As expected we have a plug for power supply and commissioning.

AOC has chosen to leave the power supply internally. We would have liked to see an external one because in this way we prevent the panel and all the internal PCB from overheating.

As we have already advanced in the introduction, the monitor incorporates AMD Free-Sync technology: Its operation is quite simple since it allows scenes to be faster, smoother and more pleasant when we are playing. Do we really notice it when we play at peak performance?

In short, the AMD Free-Sync technology is to synchronize the refresh rate of the screen with the AMD graphics card of your computer, eliminating the tearing effect, minimizing jerks and delay in entry. Like all monitors of the Gaming series or of a certain quality, it incorporates technology to protect us from ultra-reduced blue light.

OSD menu

Its OSD menu is fast and intuitive. We manage everything from the buttons on the bottom frame of the screen and with them it allows us to configure any monitor value: color tones, contrast, brightness, sRGB colors, profiles and frequency in Hz.

In our tests we really liked its performance with an AMD Radeon RX VEGA 56 and it is that as expected it moves everything in ultra. Although at the graphic design level we did not like its performance as much when carrying a TN panel, we believe that with an IPS panel it would have much more pull to the gamer public .
