Unboxing and design

The Aorus B360 Gaming 3 Wifi repeats the typical presentation of the brand, as the motherboard comes inside a cardboard box with a high-quality design and a print based on Aorus corporate colors.

The box details all the most important specifications in several languages, including Spanish so that none of its potential users miss a single detail.

When we open the box we find the motherboard protected by an anti-static bag, next to it we see the documentation, wiring, Wi-Fi card, back plate and all the accessories necessary for its start-up.

Aorus B360 Gaming 3 Wifi is a motherboard that bets on an ATX form factor, which means dimensions of 305 mm x 225 mm that will make it with most of the chassis on the market.

This time the B360 chipset has been mounted, which is one step below the H370 by not allowing RAID or overclocking, in exchange it offers a cheaper product for users who are not looking for these characteristics. Of course, it still includes the LGA 1151 socket to give full compatibility to Coffee Lake processors.

Despite the absence of overclocking, Gigabyte has assembled a top quality VRM consisting of 8 + 2 power phases, it includes Ultra Durable components to improve its durability. Ultra Durable technology also includes anti-sulfur protection, to prevent particles in the air from damaging the motherboard. Two heatsinks are placed on top of the VRM components, to prevent overheating and improve stability.

Gigabyte has mounted a total of four DDR4 DIMM slots, thanks to this we can mount a dual channel memory configuration with a maximum capacity of 64 GB, This will ensure that we do not fall short over the years, and will allow us to take full advantage the potential of Intel's Coffee Lake architecture.

Thinking about the most demanding video game fans, two PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots have been placed, which will allow us to mount Crossfire and SLI 2-way configurations. Aorus B360 Gaming 3 Wifi includes Intel CNVi 802.11ac Wave2 2T2R WiFi technology, it is the new connectivity technology integrated in the chipset, this allows users to enjoy a high speed of navigation and download without the hassle of cables. This system is compatible with MU-MIMO technology, which allows serving content to multiple clients in a much more efficient way, which means that the user experience will be better than before.

Intel CNVi Wave2 802.11ac 2 × 2 wireless solution enables maximum theoretical data rates of 1733 Mbps, 2 times faster than the 802.11ac 2 × 2 standard (867Mbps) and almost 12 times faster than the basic 1 × 1 tier BGN (150Mbps)

Added to this is a Gigabit port to navigate and stream content in high resolution without problems. This port is compatible with Intel Ether LAN and CFOS technologies, which offer high data transfer speeds with very low latency.

To check the stability of the i7-8700k processor in stock values and the motherboard we have stressed with Prime 95 Custom and air cooling. The graphics that we have used is an Nvidia GTX 1060, without further delay, let's see the results obtained in our tests with a 1920 x 1080 monitor.

BIOS

As we saw a few days ago on the Aorus H370 Gaming 3, the BIOS is overclocked. It does not allow us to activate XMP profile or overclock the processor, so we must settle for serial speeds. In this case, it does not allow us to RAID with the hard drives either, again another limitation of the chipset, but for the rest it is very complete: monitoring of voltages / temperatures, selection of storage drives and profiling.

The Aorus B360 Gaming 3 becomes one of the most desirable options when it comes to building a Gaming PC on a very tight budget. You have all the ingredients to succeed: a modern design, good components, wireless connection, an improved sound and a good lighting system.

We have repeated configuration again with an i7-8700K, 32 GB of RAM and a 6 GB Nvidia GTX 1060. The results are very similar to what it has given us with the Z370 and H370 motherboards.
