GDDR5 memory is nearing the end of its lifecycle but still has plenty to offer graphics cards, at least mid-range graphics. Aorus has announced a new GeForce GTX 1060 with new and faster video memory chips to improve the performance of a card that was already giving excellent results.

New Aorus GeForce GTX 1060 9Gbps

Gigabyte through its gaming brand Aorus has launched a new graphics card from the GeForce GTX 1060 family, which stands out for the inclusion of new and fast GDDR5 memory chips at a speed of 9 Gbps. The card maintains the same 192-bit memory interface, so the bandwidth of this new version grows to 216 Gb / s. The operating frequencies for the core of this card are 1, 607 MHz in base mode and 1, 835 MHz in turbo mode.

The rest of the features of the new Aorus GTX 1060 go through an advanced cooling formed by a large WindForce 3X heatsink that will help keep the graphics core and memory chips at the correct operating temperature. We also have a custom PCB that takes the power it needs to function through an 8-pin connector, on the back it includes an aluminum backplate that helps improve rigidity and protect the delicate components of the card.

For now, the price has not been announced.
