Today, most manufacturers of SSDs are betting on the use of TLC memory to create their new devices, since they offer a better price-to-storage ratio than MLC memory, but in return they are less resistant to writing and erasing of data. Apacer Z280 is a new M.2 disk that makes use of MLC memory to offer the best levels of reliability and resistance along with the best performance.

New M.2 Apacer Z280 SSDs with MLC memory

The new Apacer Z280 disk combines the use of MLC memory together with the NMVe protocol and the PCI-Express 3.0 x4 interface to offer excellent performance while not sacrificing reliability and endurance as with TLC memory. This new disk is presented in capacities of 120GB, 256GB and 480GB being able to reach sequential read and write speeds of 2750 MB / s and 1500 MB / s respectively, in terms of 4K random performance reaches 175, 000 IOPS.

SATA drives no thanks, M.2 SSDs is the fastest and most reliable storage

As we have mentioned the use of MLC memory technology allows its durability to be much higher than that achieved with TLC memories, in this way the Apacer Z280 is able to withstand a total of written data of 175, 349 and 698 TB in its three versions respectively, figures that can double what we usually see on discs with TLC memories.

All of them have a three-year warranty, unfortunately the price has not been announced, which will determine whether it is worth opting for these new solutions that, a priori, look very good.
