If you are a lover of classical music, including opera, or are simply curious to learn more about this genre, you will be happy to know that Apple Music has launched a new section in the “Explore” section that includes classical music tracks selected by Deutsche Grammophon, one of the most prestigious record labels in the world as far as this musical genre is concerned.

Deutsche Grammophon recommends classical music

In this new section, classical music enthusiasts will be able to find featured playlists of specific composers, featured radio stations, and brand new visual albums including the opera genre as well.

As we have learned through Engadget, one of the three visual albums is a staging of the Roméo et Juliette by the composer Charles-François Gounod, which was held at the Salzburg Music and Drama Festival in 2008. This album Visual includes 32 tracks, which can be played at once with a total duration of 2 hours and 33 minutes.

The rest of the visual operatic albums were also presented during the aforementioned Salzburg Festival, including a 2006 Mozart Gala and Giacomo Puccini's 2012 opera La Bohème , performed at the Grosses Festspielhaus opera.

Apple Music has already released visual albums in the past, like Frank Ocean's Endless, but as Engadget notes, this is the first time the service has offered a full-length opera as a visual album.

According to the record company Deutsche Grammophon, its new Apple Music section will be "regularly updated", so that the most fervent admirers of classical music will be able to continue enjoying and expanding their collections with more recordings of this style and, presumably, also with more visual albums in the future.
