Apple offers one month free when upgrading to any of the iCloud storage plans

For a long time, a large part of users have complained about the insufficient 5GB of free storage in iCloud and, although Apple has not yet increased that limit without cost, at least it seems to have taken a step in the right direction because has started offering the first month free for those users who decide to improve their storage plan in iCloud based on those 5 GB of free storage.

A free month in iCloud for you to try, and stay

As we recently read on Apple Insider, the free trial option appears when the user tries to back up their iOS device to iCloud, but does not have enough space to do so. Thus, a message encourages the user to increase their current storage plan to the next step, that is, 50 GB, whose current cost is € 0.99 per month, although this free trial option also applies to levels 200 GB and 2TB.

Once the free trial has been passed, the contracted plan will be renewed automatically unless you indicate otherwise before, at its usual price. The 50GB plan costs € 0.99 per month, while the 200GB and 2TB plans cost € 2.99 and € 9.99 a month, respectively. However, if you have already contracted any of these plans in iCloud and want to improve it, you will not get a free trial.

Despite many users asking Apple to increase the amount of free storage in iCloud, the company has focused on improving its payment options. Last year, Apple replaced its 1TB tier with a new 2TB option, but kept the same price. It also added support to share the 200 GB and 2TB through "Family Sharing".
