Apple and samsung dominate the tablet market

IDC market analysts have published their report on the state of the market for tablets in the third quarter of 2016, which shows that Apple and Samsung dominate with the highest number of shipments.

Apple and Samsung are the world's largest tablet sellers by far

Tablets no longer attract as much interest among users, among other reasons because most already have one, and sales of these devices have decreased by 14.7% compared to the same period last year. Apple and Samsung are the two brands that dominate the tablet market with shipping figures of 27.2% for those in Cupertino and 15.2% for South Koreans, Amazon lags behind with 5.7%, Lenovo with 5.5 % and Huawei with 5.2%. Out of the top 5 of the largest sellers of tablets we find 42.6% of shipments that correspond to the rest of the brands and that shows how competitive this market is.

Outside the top 5 is one of the best tablet manufacturers in the world, Microsoft, which despite the great quality and excellent performance of its Surface is unable to make a place among the 5 largest tablet vendors in the world. Added to this is the fact that many of Microsoft's rivals also sell 2-in-1 convertibles with Windows, more rivals and more difficulty for the Surface.
