Windows 8 gains market share, Windows 7 continues to dominate
Criticized by many and adored by many, the latest version of the Microsoft Windows 8 / 8.1 operating system has had a much cooler reception by users than the previous Windows 7, to the point of being unfairly compared to Windows Vista and its failure.
However little by little Windows 8 / 8.1 is gaining market share to the detriment of other versions of the operating system, it also helps the fact that since Redmond support for the aging Windows XP has ceased, still loved and used by many users to today.
Windows 8 / 8.1 increases its market share to obtain a total of 18.65% by adding both versions. For its part, Windows 7 also saw its share increase slightly, standing at 53.17%. On the other hand, Windows XP is the big loser and sees how its share drops to 13.57%, an important figure considering the age of the system but which shows that it is slowly dying.
