We continue to see new products presented at this CES 2018 in Las Vegas, this time from the manufacturer ASRock, which has shown its new Ultra Quad M.2 card that allows you to configure a four-disk NVMe RAID in a very simple way.

ASRock Ultra Quad M.2

ASRock Ultra Quad M.2 may look like a graphics card but in reality it has nothing to do with it, it is an expansion card that contains an advanced RAID NVMe controller and four M.2-type ports with support for M.2-2280 drives. As we can see in the images, all the M.2 ports have been placed diagonally to ensure that all of them are at the same distance from the card's PCI Express bus.

This ASRock Ultra Quad M.2 card includes a 50 mm fan that is responsible for cooling the disks that are mounted on it, because one of the problems of the M.2 format is that it tends to get quite hot, which can affect its performance and stability ASRock states that thanks to this fan the NVMe disks will not reach 60ÂșC so there will be no operating problem. A 6-pin PCI Express connector capable of supplying up to 75W of electrical power has been placed to power the card.

It will be sold for an approximate price of 70 euros and is compatible with the Intel X299 and AMD X399 platforms.
