ASRock released an M.2 SSD expansion card called Hyper Quad M.2, PCI-Express 4.0 compliant that will be available on the market very soon.

ASRock Hyper Quad M.2 allows adding up to 4 SSD drives

Up to four NVMe M.2 SSDs with a PCIe 4.0 (x4) connection can be mounted on this expansion card. The connection interface is PCI-Express 4.0 (x16), and the SSD form factor can be varied; M.2 2242/2260/2280/22110.

The expansion card includes a cooling system that combines a 50mm fan, large aluminum casing, and 110mm long thermal panel to cool the NVMe M.2 SSD which, as you can imagine, generates a lot of heat. The fan speed can be adjusted and can be used for systems seeking to be quiet.

The four M.2 slots are arranged at a 45 ° angle, not horizontally or vertically. This allows the trails to be kept as short and linear as possible, increasing stability and minimizing performance degradation. Other features include a DIP button for simultaneous use of up to four cards, a dedicated utility to monitor card information and adjust fan speed, and an "activity LED" to check access status to SSDs. The supported platforms are AMD TRX40 / X399 and Intel X299 (Gen 3.0), and the auxiliary power connector is 6-pin.

ASRock has yet to comment on the pricing we should expect from the Hyper Quad M.2. we will keep you informed.
