ASRock has announced a new addition to its catalog of high-performance micro-ATX motherboards, the new ASRock Z170M OC Formula includes numerous features that will delight overclockers.

The ASRock Z170M OC Formula is based on a micro-ATX form factor with a surface area of ​​just 244mm² which does not prevent it from having excellent specifications led by a 14 + 2 phase VRM and a Z170 chipset so you can extract everything the potential to Intel Skylake processors (socket LGA 1151). The board draws the power it needs to run via a 24-pin ATX connector and an 8-pin EPS connector. Due to its compact dimensions it only offers two DDR4 DIMM slots.

As it is a board designed with the overclockers in mind, the ASRock Z170M OC Formula is manufactured with a 10-layer PCB to minimize electrical interference. It also includes numerous voltage measurement points and integrated buttons for fine adjustment of the parameters related to the OC, it does not lack a diagnostic system based on LED lighting and a firmware redundancy system using EEPROM chips. On a board like this you cannot miss the HyperBClk technology that consists of an extra chip to allow overclocking in the Intel Skylake non-K processors (multiplier blocked).

As for the graphic section, it has two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots and a third slot with x4 electrical operation, with these characteristics we can build a system with great power to run very demanding video games. Storage options include an M.2 32 Gb / s slot, eight SATA III 6 Gb / s ports and up to two SATA Express (override four SATA III ports) so we won't be short of storage options.

Its specifications are completed with two USB 3.1 ports being one type C and the other type A, eight USB 3.0 ports, Intel Gibagit Ethernet interface, and high-quality sound ASRock's Purity Audio 3.
