ASRock Z270 Killer SLI It is presented in a robust black box with a large K that divides the cover into three areas. In the lower right corner we have all the official certifications that the motherboard incorporates: Compatibility with the seventh generation of processors, Nvidia SLI, AMD CrossfireX and the Z270 chipset.

Although the most interesting thing is found on the back of the box. In it, we have detailed the main technical characteristics and all its new incorporated technologies.

We open the box we find the motherboard and the following bundle:

The ASRock Z270 Killer SLI is manufactured with a PCB with the new killer series colors, black and white. The board is built with an ATX form factor and reaches dimensions of 30.5 cm x 24.4 cm so there is no surprise in this regard.

ASRock has included a heatsink to cool the chipset and VRM system. The heatsink is not very thick and at first we had doubts about its ability to cool an overclocked motherboard, but then we were surprised.

The benefits of Super Alloy technology continue with great components like power phases, Nichicon 12K Platinum capacitors and a reinforced PCB. All this with a total of 8 phases "Super Alloy" that are capable of offering the necessary power to totally overclock your processor.

It has available 4 compatible DDR4 RAM sockets with a total of 64 GB with speed from 2133 MHz to 3733 MHz with overclocking. If you do not know how to overclock the memories, do not worry, since it incorporates the compatibility with the Intel XMP profile.

The ASRock Z270 Killer SLI offers us two PCIe 3.0 to x16 sockets so that we will not have problems to configure a CrossFire or SLI system with two graphics cards, with this we will obtain the best possible performance in new generation video games. It also has a total of four PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots that will allow us to insert a video capture card or dedicated sound cards for professionals.

To be up to date, it incorporates a first Ultra M.2 connection located in the upper area of the first x16 slot. This allows us to install any M.2 NVMe tablet taking advantage of its 32 GB / s bandwidth.

What size does it allow us to install? The ASRock Z270 Killer SLI is compatible with measurements 2242/2260/2280/22110 with speeds of x4, x2 and x1.

It also incorporates a second M.2 connection to make a RAID 0.1.5 with NVMe disks. Ideal to get the most out of our computer. It is also interesting to know that it is compatible with Intel Optane technology.

On the storage connections it incorporates a total of 6 SATA III 6 GB / s ports so that we can connect our main mechanical and solid state hard drives.

We continue with a top quality HD 7.1 sound system compatible with Nichicon Audio and which is signed by the Realtek ALC892 chip. It is not the best sound card we have tested, but at technical levels it is more than optimal for the vast majority of players.

To check the stability of the Intel i7-7700k processor and motherboard, we have stressed both components with Prime95 Custom and air cooling. BIOS

As expected, we found a complete BIOS, which is increasingly supported and updated by the ASRock team. It allows us to manually overclock, activate the XMP profile with just 1 click, monitor temperatures and fan speeds, and manage the sequence of hard drives.
