Asus has announced the launch of its new Asus Hyper M.2 x16 Riser Card accessory, an adapter solution that is intended to allow users to mount up to four NVMe drives in a single PCI Express slot to take advantage of all the benefits of this technology.

Asus Hyper M.2 x16 Riser Card is a card for the PCI Express 3.0 x4 slot that allows the mounting of no less than four M.2 NVMe drives at a speed of 32 Gb / s. The card does not have HBA logic beyond a circuit to supply each of the four disks and an activity LED.
Asus Hyper M.2 x16 Riser Card is built with a brushed aluminum block that also acts as a heatsink for M.2 drives to be mounted. A blower type fan has been placed on one of the sides to generate an air flow and thus allow the discs to work at better temperatures, this fan is not controllable by software.
This new Asus expansion card reaches dimensions of 20.2 cm long x 9.6 cm high and a thickness of one slot, it will only be compatible with the Intel X299 platform and the price has not been announced.
