Asus launches xg network card

Asus completed the 10GbE ecosystem earlier today with the XG-C100C network interface card. This network card with PCI-E interface is capable of offering a transfer rate of 1000MBps.

With the advent of NVMe SSD drives, file transfer speeds have increased exponentially against the stagnant sector of traditional hard drives. That is why network adapters that are able to take advantage of all that speed of new SSDs are beginning to be commercialized without turning into a bottleneck when sharing data between PCs through a network connection.

The XG-C100C supports 10GbE and the latest 2.5 and 5GbE standards. The lower bandwidth standards have yet to appear on a home-centric switch, but when available they will allow CAT5e cabling to be used to avoid the cost of running a new cable throughout your home.

One of the functions added in XG-C100C is the IEEE 802.1p Priority Queuing, which allows prioritizing traffic packets, such as video games. This would improve the latency of the connection in video games even when the connection is being used for other tasks, such as watching videos on YouTube or anything else that consumes bandwidth.

Asus XG-C100C is available now at some major stores in the United States, such as Newegg, and soon on Amazon for just $ 99. We will surely see more of these cards throughout the year, with impressive connection speeds.
