We continue with more pre-CES news, and this time it's up to the new ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DY laptop that will be launched during the event, which will feature the new AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processor and many more features. Let's see it.

ASUS TUF FX505DY: Ryzen 7 3750H and Freesync display at 120 Hz along with a GPU that… Can not take advantage of it?

This same afternoon we were commenting on the new laptop processors released by AMD, ( still at 12nm so we are still waiting for the arrival of 7nm on the desktop ). Well, one of the first laptops to be released with these processors will be this ASUS model.

The processors in question would be either the Ryzen 7 3750H or the Ryzen 5 3550H. Both will have four cores and 8 threads and a turbo frequency of 4GHz and 3.7GHz respectively, accompanied by RAM that will go up to 32GB DDR4 running on Dual Channel. As we mentioned, the 15.6-inch IPS screen with 1080p resolution can be either 120 Hz with Freesync 2, or 60Hz in the cheapest models.

Unfortunately, the dedicated graphics card will be in both cases the 4GB AMD Radeon RX 560X, a choice that looks normal in the case of the 60Hz screen, but it seems a bit short for the 120Hz refresh rate option. Its performance is similar to the GTX 1050 or RX 460 desktop, so it does not look excessively interesting except in the case of playing light shooters like CS: GO. In this case, 120Hz would be of interest and an FPS rate close to 120 could surely be achieved.

We continue discussing the characteristics of the future laptop with storage and battery. They will include NVMe SSDs up to 256GB and a 1TB HDD, or a 1TB SSHD. The battery is 48Wh and its weight is about 2.4kg.

In the absence of knowing the date of availability and price of this laptop, what do you think? Do you think the combination of 120Hz screen with this GPU is correct? We hope to know your opinion in the comments.
