We are going to launch the new msi ps42 and msi p65 laptops

Yesterday we were at the presentation of the new MSI PS Series notebooks. These new teams are focused on content creators, the use of graphic design, video layout, and casual gamers who want the best hardware at a price that is in line with the market.

Both the MSI PS43 and the MSI P65 remind us of the fusion of the designs of the Apple Macbook and Microsoft laptops. At a more affordable price, with better components and performance

MSI P65 Creator - Ideal for high performance designers

The MSI P65 is found in a basic design in silver and a limited edition in white, both models fall in love at first sight. As expected, it has a six-core Intel Core i7-8750H processor and a frequency worthy of a desktop processor, 16 GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM RAM and the possibility to choose between Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti, GTX graphics cards. 1060 Ti Max-Q or GTX 1070 Max-Q (Only in the white version).

Regarding cooling, we have the Cooler Booster Trinity system with three whirwind Blade fans and 4 copper heatpipes. This technology must allow us to have excellent temperatures. We will see it in our analysis soon.

With only 1, 989 kg of weight and a thickness of 17.9 mm, it becomes one of the ultrabooks with the greatest capacity for gaming and design on the market. We really like its 360º cooling outlets (both sides, rear and lower area) that are capable of quickly expelling all the heat generated by its components.

It comes equipped with a 15.6-inch screen with an IPS Level panel (an improved AHVA panel). A very interesting fact is that it has a close 100% in sRGB and that in our first impressions it looks great for design. We would have liked to see a native IPS panel, but we still find it a good choice for designers. The blank version has a 144h Hz panel.

At the connection level, it has Thunderbolt 3 technology in its USB Type C connector, along with a wide variety of USB connections and a keyboard that is very pleasant to the touch. Special mention to its touchpad and its integrated fingerprint reader.

It is the same hardware upgrade system as the MSI GS65. To update the RAM, we have to lift the entire motherboard, increasing the margin of error of failure of some component while we perform the "operation". In this case, we recommend that you buy the equipment according to your needs, even if it is a little more expensive.

MSI PS42

A laptop that has been on the market for a few months and that we have not yet tasted in our laboratory. It is a 13.3-inch notebook focused on travel, thanks to its size and light weight of 1.19kg.

Its hardware is more modest, since it mounts an eighth-generation i7 low-power processor and a 2GB Nvidia MX150 graphics card. This is not the best graphics card to play but if we can take advantage of it while editing a video or want to play a game on Fortnite or some retro game.

The display panel is IPS Level and with a more than acceptable% in sRGB and Adobe. Ideal for designers. Internally we can add a SO-DIMM RAM module and change its M: 2 NVMe unit for another. But we have the same problem as the P65, we have to remove all the motherboard to get to the sockets.

At the battery level MSI promises us a total of 10 hours of daily use, and playing HD video in 7 hours on average. We believe that it is a more than worthy amount to leave on an intensive day of travel.

Its price starts at around 1000 euros and we believe it is the most complete solution on the market in the 13.3-inch format. Although we miss a Thuderbolt 3 connection and being able to use a USB Type C format power charger.
