Asus presents the 'gaming' motherboard rog strix b365

Motherboard vendors are finally rolling out their motherboards with the B365 Express chipset, replacing the previous B360 chipset. ASUS is one of them, who is launching his first product within the Republic of Gamers (ROG) series, with the ROG Strix B365-G Gaming.

The motherboard comes in a micro-ATX format, and contains many features that gamers who aren't worried about extreme overclocking would demand. The motherboard consumes power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors, obtaining a 7 + 2-phase VRM of power for any 8th or 9th generation Intel platform processor with an LGA1151 socket.

Next to the processor socket, we can see four DDR4 DIMM slots that support up to 64GB of dual-channel DDR4-2667 memory. A PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot with metal reinforcement is also appreciated, a practice that has been common.

For storage, we have two M.2-2280 slots, one of which supports PCI-Express 3.0 x4 and SATA 6 Gbps, while the other is only PCI-Express 3.0 x4. We also have six 6 Gbps SATA ports. The single 1 GbE interface on the board is managed by an Intel i219-V controller.

The on-board audio solution combines a Realtek ALC1220A CODEC with dual OPAMPs, EMI shielding, audio capacitors, and isolation to prevent signal noise. Of course, there are addressable RGB management heads.
