Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero motherboard comes perfectly protected inside a cardboard box to avoid damage during transport, Asus ROG has once again opted for its corporate colors for the decoration of the box.

In the rear area we have all the specifications very well detailed, and included are the main novelties. We continue!

Once we open the box we find the motherboard and all its accessories perfectly packaged.

The highlight of this new Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero motherboard is the use of the X470 chipset, which offers native support for the new AMD Ryzen 2000 processors, which are also compatible with 300 chipsets although they need a BIOS update.

Next to the X470 chipset we find the AM4 socket, let's remember that the AMD platform has the pins in the processor and not in the socket, just the opposite of what happens with its rival Intel.

The socket is powered by a 14-phase VRM with DIGI + technology, which results in the use of the highest quality components to guarantee great stability and the best durability. This high-quality VRM will allow us to achieve higher levels of overclocking on second-generation Ryzen processors.

The Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero motherboard allows us to mount up to four RAM memory modules in its four DDR4 DIMM slots, it also has a dual-channel configuration, which offers a large bandwidth with the processor so that it can offer us its maximum benefits. We can put a maximum of 64 GB of memory at a speed of 3, 200 MHz, more than enough for any user, no matter how demanding it is.

The X470 chipset supports AMD StoreMI technology, which combines SSD storage with mechanical hard drive to deliver a high-speed, high-capacity pool. It also offers support for RAID 0.1 and 10 technologies.

Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero offers the SupremeFX 1220 high-performance multi-channel audio engine. Among the most notable benefits of this system we find an integrated headphone amplifier with 2.1Vrms output capacity to drive 600 ohm headphones and impedance detection functions. and an ESS Hi-Fi Saber ES9023P HD DAC for unbeatable audio playback quality. This DAC features a 113db SNR line and a 120dB SNR line that allow users to transmit and record with minimal noise.

We hit the net and found the Intel Ethernet I211-AT controller, which runs faster and smoother gaming, by reducing CPU overhead to allocate more processing power for games. This system offers exceptionally high Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) performance.

The ASUS team has optimized the OPAMP gain between CPU Core voltage, CPU SOC voltage, DRAM voltage, and + 12V input voltage to minimize voltage drift as much as possible.

It also implements for the first time the 32MB SPI ROM design on X470 motherboards, with a built-in BIOS image of 16MB lower, thereby reserving the additional 16MB for future processor support.

The Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero is one of the best motherboards on the market for the AM4 socket. We thought that Asus could not set the bar higher and this time they have been overcome. A greater recognition of RAM memory at high speed (Thanks AGESA), high storage performance, long-lasting components and brutal aesthetics are its main guarantees.

In our tests we have set our AMD Ryzen 2 2700X to over 4.25 GHz with just 1.36 ~ 1.38v 100% stable with 3400 MHz Sniper X memories. Offering a significant increase in performance in games and synthetic tests. Got it on ASUS!
