We return to the fray with a new custom graphics card with an Nvidia core, this time the impressive Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1060 that seeks to be one of the best in its class.

Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1060: most important technical characteristics

The Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1060 is built with a custom PCB on which we find a powerful 6 + 1 phase Super Alloy II VRM for greater overclocking capacity compared to the reference model and better energy efficiency. This VRM takes power through an 8-pin power connector so we are facing a card with a maximum consumption of 225W in overclock situations.

As for the heatsink, we find the already characteristic DirectCU III formed by a gigantic monolithic aluminum radiator that is crossed by five copper heatpipes and accompanied by three 90 mm fans that are responsible for generating the necessary air flow to keep the card temperature. The set is completed with a backplate to provide greater rigidity and aid in cooling.

All this at the service of its Nvidia Pascal GP106 GPU manufactured by TSMC in the 16nm FinFET process and consisting of a total of 1280 CUDA Cores, 80 TMUs and 48 ROPs that operate at a base and turbo frequency of 1620/1873 MHz respectively. Joined to the GPU we find 6 GB of GDDR5 memory with a 192-bit interface and a frequency of 8, 200 MHz for outstanding performance. It includes the AURA RGB lighting system and its length is 29.8 cm.
