After the announcement of the new AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics cards, it is to be expected that the Sunnyvale company's main partners will rush to show the public their custom versions of the most powerful graphics card created by the company. Asus ROG Strix RX Vega64 has been the first to show itself with impressive features.

Asus ROG Strix RX Vega64

The Asus ROG Strix RX Vega64 is based on the AMD Vega 10 silico as its name indicates, this translates into specifications led by its 64 active Compute Units with 4, 096 stream processors that work at frequencies that have not been disclosed, what which may mean that Asus has not yet finished optimizing the card. As for the memory more of the same, we know that it has 8 GB HBM2 but we do not know anything about its working frequency.

Fortunately, we do have more data about the DirectCu III heatsink, Asus has improved it so that it can easily withstand the high power consumption of Vega 10, since the most powerful version announced by AMD has a TDP of 345W, so the demand of electricity will be very high and therefore a lot of heat will be generated. Asus has mounted a thicker aluminum radiator than the one used in the previous generation, after all, both Polaris and Pascal consume much less energy than Vega. The radiator is pierced by six copper heatpipes and three patented fans are placed on top to generate 105% higher air pressure and IP5X protection to be dust resistant.

To power such a monster, a 12 + 1 phase VRM has been installed with two 8-pin auxiliary power connectors, so the card can consume up to 375W (150W from each connector + 75W from the motherboard). It doesn't lack an RGB LED lighting system and video outputs in the form of two DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0 and a DVI.

It will arrive in September along with the rest of Vega custom cards.
