Asus transformer pad
The introduction of the ASUS Transformer Pad family of tablets made clear the Taiwanese company's ability to advance the needs of the mobile device market.
Introduced in March 2011, the Eee Pad Transformer + Keyboard Docking concept revolutionized the limits of the Tablet market by creating a product that, in addition to being ideal for content consumption, thanks to having a mechanical QWERTY keyboard, also offered great potential for applications of productivity. Since then, ASUS tablets have continued to evolve to cover an even wider range of specifications and needs.
In order to celebrate the success of Transformer Pad tablets, ASUS has created a series of videos that explain the history of their design in great detail. These videos also include excerpts from interviews with various product and design managers that will allow Transformer Pad users to learn about the processes and ideas that led to the creation of their device.
Preparing for transformation
The creation of any product always involves a story that goes from the conceptual sketches until it is made available to users. This video describes the history of the Transformer Pad. It begins with a brief introduction from ASUS President Jonney Shih followed by statements by the product manager, the ins and outs of concept development and design, and how it all crystallized in the team of designers achieving the Eee Pad Transformer Prime. At the end of the video, a series of clues of what to expect for the future of the tablet market are included.
The next transformation
Before the success of the Eee Pad Transformer and Eee Transformer Prime, the ASUS design team had already been developing the following two models for some time: the Transformer Pad and the Transformer Pad Infinity. Building on the lessons learned during the creation of the original Transformer and the user experiences of the users themselves, ASUS created the next generation with the intention of covering a much wider spectrum of needs. This video describes the design history of the Transformer Pad family.
ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity
Like the rest of Transformer tablets, the Infinity has a Docking keyboard that multiplies the productivity of the device. The Infinity enhances everything that has made the Transformer Pad the most coveted Android tablet. Highlights are its Full HD display, NVIDIA®'s Tegra® 3 T33 4-PLUS-1 ™ quad-core processor, which also contains 12-core GeForce® graphics and its Super IPS + display.
The processor contains an extra core dedicated to saving energy when the user performs low-power tasks such as online browsing or video and music playback; all in a totally transparent way for OS and applications. With a frequency of 1.6GHz, the other four cores take care of offering the most incredible FULL HD experience.
The Super IPS + display offers a native aspect ratio of 16:10, 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 178 ° viewing angle making it ideal for enjoying movies and games even outdoors. The device has a 2MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera with F / 2.2 aperture and a lens made up of five elements. At the design level, the Infinity incorporates an ultra-thin 8.5mm chassis finished with a concentric pattern available in amethyst gray or champagne. ASUS has created a video detailing the specs and attention to detail played by the team during product development:
