Asus has announced the launch of its new TUF Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 motherboard with LGA 1151 socket and the Z170 chipset that is presented with the usual series fairing and heart-stopping specifications

The new Asus TUF Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 motherboard comes with an ATX format and an Intel LGA 1151 socket to support Intel's Skylake processors. Surrounding the socket are four DDR4 DIMM slots that support up to 64GB DDR4 2400/2133 MHz and an unknown VRM Digi + that surely impresses us when we know its details.

It has three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots with support for configurations of up to 4 GPUs and three PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots. Regarding storage, it has six SATA III ports, and one two SATA Express, the absence of an M.2 port being especially noteworthy. Also not missing are eight USB 2.0 ports, six USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.1 Type A port and one USB 3.1 Type C port .

Its specifications are completed with the Intel Gibagit Ethernet network interface using the Intel I218-V chip, Realtek ALC1150 8-channel audio with a separate section of the PCB to avoid electromagnetic interference. Regarding the video outputs we find DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4.

Finally we come to the exclusive features of the TUF series which include:

• TUF Fortifier: increases the rigidity of the plate with a backplate that covers almost the whole of the rear and can support up to 10 Kg of weight. It also improves component temperatures by up to 13ºC by assisting heat dissipation. TUF Dust Defenders: Plastic and silicone protectors that protect the rear ports of the board and the RAM and PCI-Express sockets that are not in use. TUF ICe, Thermal Radar 2 and TUF Detective 2: three features that complement each other to improve cooling
  • ICe: on-board coprocessor that monitors temperature sensors and fan speeds.Thermal Radar 2: offers 12 fan connectors that can be controlled with great precision thanks to all the included sensors, allows adjusting parameters with one click and even monitor external elements to the board such as the GPUTUF Detective 2: software that allows the user all the system parameters from a smartphone or tablet.
