Major Intel partners like Asus and Biostar have already started showing off the first motherboards for the new X299 platform. These new boards show incredible designs and are compatible with the Skylake X and Kaby Lake X processors that arrive to face the AMD Threadripper. ASUS X299 TUF MARK2 and BIOSTAR X299 Racing GT9.

ASUS X299 TUF MARK2

A motherboard with the characteristic design of the TUF series and very similar in characteristics to the ASUS PRIME X299-A although logically very different in appearance. It has 24-pin and 8 + 4-pin connectors and eight DDR4 DIMM slots with support for a maximum of 128 GB of memory compatible with XMP 2.0 and in a four-channel configuration. We continue with three PCI-e 3.0 x16 slots, two PCI-e 3.0 x4 slots, one PCI-e 3.0 x1 port, two M.2 ports with NVMe support, 6 SATA III ports, two USB 3.0 ports, 6 USB 3.1 ports, 4 USB 2.0 ports, Intel I219-V Gigabit LAN and multiple video outputs.

Biostar is also taking on the Intel X299 party with the Biostar X299 Racing GT9 with an E-ATX form factor and a black and yellow based design.
