Table of contents:
After a long time, we have news of Atari and its retro console, the one originally named Atari Box, will finally hit the market under the name Atari VCS, if there is no more last minute change.
Atari VCS will have two controls and will run Linux
Atari VCS is based on a design inspired by the Atari 2600, the manufacturer will make available to users a version made of wood, to give it a truly retro look. This new system will be based on an AMD processor, and will run the Linux operating system. Inside it will bring a lot of Atari classics, in addition to being able to offer a complete PC experience for TV.

Atari VCS will be up to date with the inclusion of an HDMI video output, USB ports, an Ethernet port, Wi-Fi and an SD card slot. The latter should allow us to add more games to the system, something that the Nintendo NES Classic Edition and SNES Classic Edition consoles do not allow. There's no release date for Atari VCS yet, but the company says it will announce a pre-purchase date sometime in April 2018. Originally, the console was due to arrive on December 14, but Atari announced a delay, stating that more time was needed to create the platform and ecosystem that the Atari community deserves.
The images show that Atari VCS will have two controllers available, one with a modern design, and the other with a design very similar to that of the famous Atari 2600. We will still have to wait a bit to see all the benefits of this new retro console, what is undeniable is that its design will make many users fall in love.
