Au optronics works on an ips panel at 144hz
IPS panels are known for their great image quality and the wide viewing angles they offer, however they have the disadvantage of being difficult to offer panels at more than 60Hz, a feature highly demanded by gamers for the smoothness it offers in the movement of the picture. AU Optronics has announced that they are working on a 27 ”IPS panel with 1440p and 144Hz resolution.
Under the code name M270DAN02.3 we find a 27-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels with an sRGB color palette, viewing angles of 178º, a static contrast of 1000: 1, a maximum brightness 350 cd / m², a response time of 1 millisecond (1 ms) and a refresh rate of 144 Hz.
For all the above features, we find a panel that will be used to make gaming monitors compatible with AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync technologies to minimize stuttering and offer more fluid images.
Good news for the Gamers since surely at the beginning of next year there will already be IPS monitors on the market with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and 1440p resolution. The Asus ROG Swift PG278Q will be the first monitor on the market to use this panel.
