Battlefield 1: performance analysis

Table of contents:

We have the first performance analysis of Battlefield 1, after having known the minimum and recommended requirements yesterday, the people of DigitalFoundry have been in charge of conducting a video analysis with the graphical differences between the different configurations and the performance that offers under an Intel Core i7 6700k processor and a Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics.

The first thing that causes surprise, even to DigitalFoundry itself, is that Battlefield 1 seems to scale very well since in the graphic configuration in 'Medium' the game looks spectacular, with little appreciable differences when the graphic quality is raised, such as dispensing with the ambient occlusion and some other details that do not affect the set as much.

The analysis was done under DirectX 12, which works perfectly on a GTX 1080. When the resolution is adjusted to 4K (3, 840 x 2, 160 pixels) and the graphics options in Ultra, Battlefield 1 stays above 50 frames per second, so we could say that with this graphics card you can play in 4K resolution at the next titles that are going to hit the market.

Battlefield 1 Performance Video Analysis

DigitalFundry has wanted to go a little further and when the resolution is raised to 5K (5, 120 x 2, 880) Battlefield 1 can still stay above 30 frames in Ultra.

We recommend reading our guide to the best graphics cards.

Recall that Battlefield 1 is going to officially launch on October 21 and the closed beta that DigitalFoundry accessed is an Alpha version, so there is still room for improvement in terms of stability and performance in this video game. Will the long-awaited 4K and 60 FPS be achieved as required by the 'master race'?
