Battlefield 1 is about to come out next October 21 but there are already performance comparisons of the definitive version of the DICE video game for the AMD and Nvidia platforms.

The benchmark was carried out by the Wccftech people and it compares some 13 current graphics cards from both Nvidia and AMD.

Battlefield 1 under DirectX 12 in 1080p

The first benchmark is with 1080p resolution under DirectX 12 where there are not too many surprises, the GTX 1080 is at the top, where Battlefield 1 exceeds 120 fps and AMD's Fury X is very close to that result. With the settings in Ultra, the RX 480 reaches an average of 90 fps, beating its direct rival the GTX 1060, which remains at 85 fps.

Battlefield 1 under DirectX 12 in 4K

When we increase the resolution to 4K, the GTX 1080 suffers and cannot reach the glorious 60 fps but it does not stay that far with the settings at maximum. The rest of the graphics are far from 60 fps but comfortably exceed 30 fps in 4K, with the exception of the GTX 780, R9 280X and RX 460, outdated graphics to play in this resolution.

Comparison of AMD and Nvidia with DirectX 11 and DirectX 12

An interesting fact is the comparison of the game under DirectX 11 and DirectX 12, while with AMD graphics performance is improved, Nvidia graphics worsen when using DirectX 12. We will see how AMD takes advantage of this with its next top of the range graphics.
