Blackmagic is back a few months later with somewhat better value. Like many eGPUs, this model also functions as a Thunderbolt 3 daisy-chain hub, four USB-A ports, HDMI, and a DisplayPort connection capable of resolutions up to 5K.
Now for the downside, this Blackmagic eGPU Pro will be available in late November for an official price of $ 1, 199, making it more expensive than an internal Radeon RX Vega 64 card. Its chassis and Thunderbolt 3 technology explain at least part of the extra cost, but there is no doubt that this is primarily intended for professional media editing tasks, where an eGPU could quickly pay for itself through faster rendering.
