Bluechip claims the existence of amd z490 and intel z390 chipsets
Table of contents:
We already wrote about the Z490 chipset, which is basically an X470 with better features (with more PCIe tracks). The roadmap published by BlueChip suggests the launch of this chipset will take place in June, even before the B450 (the mid-range chipset for Pinnacle Ridge).
The AMD Z490 and Intel Z390 chipsets will arrive in the second half
On the other hand, the Z390 chipset is also published by Bluechip, which confirms the 8-core Intel Coffee Lake processors for this year (June to be precise with engineering samples). These series (probably with more than one SKU) will be supported by the Z390 chipset, designed for high-end motherboards.
The slides also indicate that Threadripper would receive more of a platform update than a new chipset. The second generation of Threadripper (based on Zen +) is currently expected in August, according to data provided by BlueChip.
If this is true, we would have a second half of the year with many new features in terms of high-end motherboards from the main manufacturers, prepared for the new processors of both companies, in order to get the most out of it.
We can also see the B360 chipsets for Coffee Lake arriving in the second half, while, on the AMD side, the B450 chipset already appears, both for the mid-range.

A few weeks ago Biostar had hinted (unintentionally) about the Intel Z390 chipset and we were rubbing our hands. Now it can be said that the existence of a chipset is practically official, thanks to documentation from the North American company itself.
Intel and tsmc already negotiate the manufacture of processors and chipsets
Intel plans to outsource its entry-level processors and 14nm chipsets to TSMC, a move to meet demand.
