How to disable the app tv button on the siri remote of your apple tv

Just a few days ago, iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3 were released. With the updates of the operating system came a great novelty, the TV app, a kind of "direct access" to all audiovisual content to which we are subscribed, with suggestions based on our preferences and browsing history. With this, a slight change also came to the Siri Remote that, today, in Spain, may not want many users.

TV App or Classic Home?

With tvOS 12.3, when we press the start button on the remote control of our Apple TV (the one with the drawing of a screen), it takes us to the Next menu of the new TV app. Thus, this new application becomes the center from which to access all our content.

But the truth is that in Spain there is still a lot to do with this app to be what it really wants to be, and today we are filled with proposals to rent and buy movies on iTunes: is there really still someone who does this?

Fortunately, you will be able to change the configuration of the Start button of your Apple TV easily. To do this, open the Settings of your device, access the Controls and devices menu, and there you can toggle the function of the Start button between the Apple TV app and the Start Screen.

In this way, when you press this button once, it will take you to the Apple TV home screen (as it always has been until now) and not to the TV app.

But if you prefer to keep the configuration as Apple has established it with tvOS 12.3, remember that a single click will take you to the new TV app, while a double click will take you to the Home screen.
