With the arrival of the new iOS 11 mobile operating system, the iPad received the update it deserved, a whole series of new features and functions that fully improve our productivity. Among them, a dock whose resemblance to the Mac dock is not a coincidence at all. This new dock offers us new features, among them, the option to show recent and suggested apps on the far right, but how to disable this option?

Recent and suggested apps, a good option, but not always

Recent and suggested apps are a very good option however sometimes it may be a feature you just don't need. For example, in my case, the apps that I use the most are precisely the ones that I have in the dock in such a way that, with this option activated, I used to have them in duplicate, which is why I deactivated it. If this is also your case, continue reading and you will know how to disable the recent and suggested applications in the dock of your iPad with iOS 11.

  • First of all, open the Settings app on your iPad and go to the General → Multitasking section and the Dock. At the bottom of this screen you will find the “Dock” section and the “Show recent and suggested apps” option. Tap the slider to disable (or enable) this setting.

And that's it! And it is something as simple to do as we have described. Note that disabling this option does not override the Handoff feature, which shows the app you are working with on another device or computer to the right of the dock.

Thanks to this adjustment, you will simply prevent those three applications that you have used most recently from appearing at the end of the dock, thus avoiding repetitions and giving you more space to put more apps in the dock.
