Microsoft virtual assistant Cortana has just added a new functionality: suggested reminders. It was today when the guys from Microsoft announced this new feature, in addition to other functions. This feature has already arrived in the United States today, and will soon be reaching other points on the map.

Cortana adds suggested reminders

But what does this consist of Cortana's suggested reminders ? With this new functionality, Cortana will send us reminder suggestions.

Imagine that you are talking to a friend and you say " I will pick you up tomorrow ", or with a colleague and you say, " I will send you the book on Thursday ". Cortana, might be able to detect this and add it as a reminder to remind you later. Is awesome! You can see it yourself working through the following video:

This is great for several reasons:

  • Nothing will ever be overlooked again. We will not have to add the reminders ourselves, because the moment we talk to someone about something we will do in the future and for when, Cortana will detect it to add it to reminders, so we can do it on purpose just for you to add it and not having to do it manually.

That is why it is important that when you speak by email, you signal the end time so that Cortana can collect that information and create the suggested reminders.

How to activate Cortana's Suggested Reminders?

You simply have to give Cortana access to Contacts, Email, Calendar and Communications. So that you can collect this information and write down all the upcoming events and dates.

When will Cortana's suggested reminders be available?

Initially in the US and for Windows 10, but soon it will end up reaching everyone and Android and iOS (although unfortunately we do not know when). What we do know is that this feature will start reaching users today at some points on the map. Surely we will soon be able to enjoy it in Spain.
