1. Open the Mac App Store and download the macOS High Sierra installer to your Mac (do it even if you have already updated your computer). Review the desktop, the download folder, the video and document folders, the application folder… And send to the trash everything you no longer need or want.Now do an in-depth cleaning of your equipment.    Once you've cleaned your computer, back it up with Time Machine. Yes, you can use another program, and you can even make a manual copy of the files you want to keep on an external hard drive, but they want to make life difficult for you, unless you have everything or almost everything in the cloud, as in my case..Now download the DiskMaker X app on your Mac, install it and run it with that USB stick that we talked about connected to your computer.

   

   In the pop-up window, select the operating system, select your flash drive and wait. You will have to enter your administrator password. Do this and don't touch anything until an on-screen message informs you that the process is complete, make sure that macOS High Sierra has been downloaded and that the backup is complete. Now open "System Preferences" → "Startup Disk" and select the startup disk you have created (the pendrive). Confirm that you want to boot your Mac from there and wait for the restart. The macOS High Sierra installer will appear on the screen. Open "Disk Utility", select the main partition of your Mac and press "Delete" making sure that the chosen format is "macOS Plus with registry". The process will only take a few seconds and your Mac will be erased. Exit "Disk Utility" and continue with the installation process in the usual way.

When prompted, enter your Apple ID and select whether you want to configure the computer as a new Mac or download the backup you made earlier with Time Machine.
