How to do a clean installation of windows 10 using a pendrive

In this article we are going to teach you how to prepare a USB flash drive with all the necessary files to carry out a clean installation of Windows on the same PC or any other that meets the requirements of the new Microsoft operating system.

What do we need?

Process

First of all we need to download a free tool created by Microsoft:

Once inside the page we click to download the 32-bit or 64-bit version according to our operating system, if you do not know this you can consult it in the Windows control panel:

Once the tool is downloaded, we run it and it will ask us if we want to update the PC now or if we want to create an installation medium for another PC, we mark the second option and click next.

A new section will appear asking us the version of Windows that we want, the architecture and the language. Among the available Windows options we have Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro, in addition the N versions are available that do not carry the multimedia components.

We must also choose the 32-bit or 64-bit architecture depending on the PC where we want to install Windows 10 and the amount of RAM it has installed, from 4 GB of RAM we must install the 64-bit version to take advantage of it. We can include both versions but it will take much more space (6 GB) and it will take longer to download the files. Once we have selected everything we click on next.

Now the program asks us if we want to generate an ISO file to save it on the computer or if we want to use a pendrive, in this case we select to use a pendrive and click on next to start downloading the files.

We can only let the program do all the work and we will have our pendrive ready to install Windows 10 on any PC that meets the requirements.

What if I want to save an ISO file?

Since we are supposed to live in a free society, you can decide to oppose this server and instead of using a USB stick, you may want to save an ISO image of Windows 10, no problem, just select that option in the previous window and the program will save you an ISO image of Windows 10 on your computer.

What do I do with the ISO?

Once you have the Windows 10 ISO image, you can save it to your PC to use it whenever you want, here you have two options: burn it to a DVD and install from there, or something more practical and faster than preparing a USB flash drive to install Windows 10 using the ISO image that you have already saved on your computer, for this you can follow our tutorial that explains the procedure using Rufus.
