WhatsApp is one of the largest instant messaging applications worldwide. However, in recent times it has received enough criticism for its privacy options, which have been improving after the increase in popularity of Telegram.

How to show WhatsApp Status only to certain contacts

Just a few months ago, WhatsApp States arrived, which allow each user to show one or more photos, phrases, GIF images or even videos, in the style of Instagram stories. In addition, each state lasts for 24 hours and will be displayed by default to all contacts on the phone.

If privacy worries you and you don't want all your contacts to see your WhatsApp status, in this simple tutorial we explain how to make WhatsApp Status show only to certain contacts in your phonebook.

First, you have to open the application on your mobile and access the Settings panel by tapping in the upper right corner. Within this panel, go to Account> Privacy> Status. When you click on Status, a window will appear where you must indicate who can see your status updates, with the possibility of choosing to see all the contacts, all the contacts except some, or only share the states with certain contacts, hiding them from the others.

In this sense, to hide your WhatsApp status updates from all contacts and share them only with some of your list, you must select the option "Only share with…", where a list will appear with the contacts that you can choose and which will be the only ones that will see your States from that moment.

On the other hand, if there is any active WhatsApp status, from the main screen of the application you can go directly to the States tab and by clicking on the Menu button you will be given the possibility of accessing the privacy of the states directly, with the same options indicated above.
