The arrival of mobile payments to WhatsApp has been working for a long time. The application has been introducing many functions, although those of payments have not yet arrived globally. But they are currently testing in India. It has been in this market where they have already introduced the option to request money from other contacts in the application.

WhatsApp introduces the option to request money from other contacts

It seems that the last steps that the application has taken are for users to easily send and request money. So they do not want to turn the application into a banking app, or that too much can be done. Just some basic operations like these.

You can request money in WhatsApp now!

• If the payment feature isn't available for you, be free to contact @FidatoCA.

• The payment feature is available for Indian users only.

• If “Request Money” isn't enabled for you, please wait more.

WhatsApp continues to test payments

At the moment, it has already been seen in a beta of the application that this new option to request money from a contact is already real. So they are currently testing this feature. It is in the same menu where you can find the option to send money. So little by little you see an evolution in the payment functions within WhatsApp.

When the user is in a conversation with a contact, they will be able to ask for money. You can enter the amount you want and the other contact will take care of sending you the money. There is not much difference regarding the method, similar to that of applications like PayPal.

All these tests are currently being carried out in India. But it is not known when they will end and when these functions will arrive in WhatsApp to other markets. So we will have to wait to know more about it.
