In desktop web browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari, the icons of the websites we visit appear in the different tabs that we have open at all times. Known as favicons , these icons can be very useful to speed up the alternation between tabs because, at a quick glance, we can know which tab we want to go to. And although it is a feature that we take for granted on the desktop, in Safari for iOS we can activate and deactivate it at our whim.

Show favicons in Safari for iOS

It is possible that with the arrival of iOS 12, the function of "showing icons" of websites in the Safari tabs is disabled by default, so you will have to "turn it on" if you want to display the tabs by which you you move.

Fortunately, this process is really simple and fast, and the only thing you will have to do to see the Safari tabs with those favicons as I show you in the screenshot above is to follow these instructions:

  1. First of all, open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, now scroll down and select the Safari option.

Then, a little further down, you will find the option Show icons in the tabs. Press the slider next to it to activate if it is deactivated.

Ready! From now on, either on your iPad or on your iPhone, you will be able to see the icons of the websites that you have open in the Safari tabs, and you will be able to move more agilely between them, especially when the number of tabs Open no longer allows you to view the name of the website in question.
