Treyarch and Beenox have revealed new information about the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. According to the developers, the battle royale mode will come with a frame rate limited to 120 fps at launch, while the Zombie modes and Multiplayer will support unlimited framerates.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Blackout will not have unlimited fps
Now, while this may disappoint some fans, Treyarch has plans for Blackout to get unlimited framerate like the other game modes, but it won't be at game launch. As the developers stated, they will make sure at game launch that it has high stability for each player and will rise to 144 fps as soon as the servers are stable. Assuming everything is going well, Treyarch will enable framerates without limitations in the first days of the game's release.
We don't know exactly what the relationship is between layering the game's framerate and the stability of the servers, but that's the question. This should not affect those PC gamers who regularly play at 60 fps.
Things are looking good for the PC version of Call of Duty Black Ops 4. Treyarch has also made several updates to the game, all based on player feedback, so hopefully those horrible low-resolution textures seen on the beta have been replaced in the final game.
Call of Duty Black Ops 4 goes on sale on October 12 with Blackout, Zombies and Multiplayer modes. The game will have no campaign this time.
