Panasonic cameras: 4K recording for everyone

Anonim

Last week Panasonic upgraded its camera line and launched two new devices on the market. As it has been happening in the latest company launches, the absolute star is 4K video recording that is reaching even the simplest Panasonic cameras. Sadly, we still have sensor size limitations.

The main highlight is the Lumix GX8 which became the first micro four thirds to overcome the 20 megapixel maximum resolution barrier. The micro four thirds was a great revolution at the time. Produced in a partnership between Olympus and Panasonic, the small sensor (with 2x crop factor) was responsible for the emergence of the first mirrorless cameras. Today the competition already manufactures mirror cameras with APS-C sensors and even full frame. And we all know that, in photography, the larger the sensor, the better the possibility of image quality. Another innovation from the team is that the GX now has an image stabilization system in the sensor that will work in conjunction with the lens stabilization system to maximize the result. This can be very interesting.

The Lumix GX8 is equipped with a 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor and is powered by a Venus Engine quad-core processor, which allows, among other things, to capture 30 photos per second with a resolution of 8 megapixels and work with maximum ISO of 25, 600. In the filming part, we have the possibility to capture 4K videos with 30 or 24 frames per second. The DFD (Depth from Defocus) focusing system guarantees, according to the company, a speed of 0.07 seconds to execute the operation. Closing the package we have a 3-inch touch screen LCD screen, Wi-Fi connection, NFC and time-lapse.

Panasonic is also launching the Lumix FZ 300, a compact camera with a 12 megapixel (1 / 2.3-inch) CMOS sensor. The camera is equipped with a lens with a focal length equivalent to 25-600mm with a constant maximum aperture of f / 2.8 and optical image stabilizer. As well as the most modern cameras, the FZ300 presents some amenities such as external flash hot shoe and the ability to capture photos in RAW. Just like the GX8, she can make 4K videos at 30 or 24 frames per second. An interesting quality is 100% coverage of the electronic view finder and a 3-inch articulated, touch-sensitive LCD monitor.
