As we have already seen in the past, Ryzen 2000 brought interesting technologies to its generation such as the Boost Overdrive or the XFR 2.0 and Ryzen 3000 is not far behind. Here we will see some of the most relevant things that the board manufacturers have prepared for the X570 and Ryzen 3000 chipset .

X570 chipset, the first platforms to be fully PCIe Gen4

We have been seeing it at Computex and we revive it now. The PCie Gen 4 is the technology that is flooding the world of motherboards. From processors to NVMe SSDs are slowly including these next-gen connections . Thanks to them, they are achieving, among other things, speeds of writing and reading much higher than the current ones, but not all the boards fully support them.

This is where the X570 range comes in , a motherboard chipset intended for desktop users whose ports will all be PCIe Gen 4 compliant . When we witness these leaps in technology, we know we are in the midst of a generation change, and in this case, a change of standard.

PCIe lines on X570 motherboards

In general, AMD processors will offer 24 PCIe Gen 4 lines, while the PCH (Platform Control Center, in Spanish) will provide 16 PCIe Gen 4 lines .

To distribute these ports, we will have an x16 and x4 connection from the processor. In turn, the motherboard will use an x4 line to connect to the processor, thus offering the remaining 16 lines.

Although these motherboards will be the best option to mount new generation AMD equipment, it does not mean that Ryzen 3000 can only choose these motherboards. As we have already talked about in other news, the new generation processors will be compatible with previous motherboards such as the X470 and the X370 just by updating their BIOS .

X570 chipset motherboards are slated to ship in early July, so they're just around the corner.
