The laptop arrives in a very compact cardboard box with a super ecological design. On its cover we see the logo of the brand and the Intel Inside seal. While on the left side Chuwi quickly details the model we are dealing with.

The Chuwi Surbook is a more compact 2-in-1 laptop currently on the market. Equip a 12.3- inch screen, with 2736 x 1824 resolution and it has an IPS panel with brightness that behaves very, very well in fidelizing its colors.

We leave you some images so that you can see the quality it offers at different angles. Regarding its measurements, it is very transportable, since it is the mission of this team. It has official measurements of 29.30 x 20.00 x 1.50 mm with a weight of 1, 043 kg. It looks great!

It has a 3MP front camera that although it is not the best on the market, stands out from its most important rivals. It also has a 0.3 MP flash camera, which we sincerely believe could have been saved, since the quality is quite fair.

The keyboard is another key part of a laptop to have an optimal experience with our future laptop. The Chuwi Surbook equips a removable keyboard with a very pleasant touch and that leaves us feeling great when writing with it. The keystroke is quite fast and reminds us a lot of that of the Microsoft Surface PRO 4.

The lower part does not have outlets for cooling, but its aluminum body helps improve heat transfer, and the truth is that the equipment does not overheat either.

Components and internal design

The Chuwi Surbook features a quad-core Intel Celeron N3450 processor with frequencies ranging from 1.1 GHz to 2.2 Hz at full power. But does this processor perform well? We assure you that you will have no problems playing multimedia content at 1080p thanks to its integrated graphics card Intel Graphics 500. Obviously, it is a suitable system for the most basic day-to-day tasks: more office internet. This set is powered by a 5000 mAh battery that promises an autonomy of up to up to 6 real hours.

Surprisingly, it has a total of 6 GB of non-expandable RAM, but it is very fine, much better than others with 2 or 4 GB. Good job Chuwi! We are missing a mechanical hard drive or SSD as the Chinese company has opted for a 128GB eMMC drive. Enough for the operating system and some applications, but we can always expand with external hard drives or high-density flash drives.

It has two speakers compatible with Dolby Digital Plus technology that allows surround sound and much more realistic while you play. It also comes optimized for watching movies in Blu-Ray quality and becomes the perfect ally for music lovers. Although we miss a DAC to get the most out of professional helmets.

Test of performance

Regarding performance tests, we have passed Cinebench R15 and the result is as expected for a processor of these characteristics.

Chuwi Surbook was born for those users who do not want to leave a kidney in a 2-in-1 laptop, see Microsoft Surface or the Apple Macbook , but without losing the essence of an ultra compact computer: versatility, good autonomy and a good writing experience.

It is true that it is not the most powerful 2-in-1 laptop on the market , but it is not the worst either. Believe it or not, those 6 GB of RAM memory have given a lot of life to the Intel Celeron N3450 quad-core and 2 GHz. Its autonomy is quite surprising, reaching 6 hours and it is that it has also left us a very good taste in the mouth its removable keyboard (even if it doesn't have the Ñ). It's not a Lenovo T-series Thinkpad, but we've tested the Microsoft Surface 4 PRO and it has nothing to envy.

Although we can play a game in low quality, it is not its strong point. And we recommend that we avoid these uses to extend their life as much as possible, since as refrigeration at maximum power is somewhat fair.
